The Dark Side of the Moon – Live at Wembley Empire Pool, London, 1974 by Pink Floyd, released in March 2023
This album contains the first complete live performance of The Dark Side of the Moon, released to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1973 album. The recording from this album is not previously released; it was included on the 2011 reissue of the album as the second disc, the Immersion Edition.
This is a momentous concert, powerful and emotional, with exceptional audio quality and brilliant live performances. It's a fitting celebration of the album's 50th anniversary. The mix is superb, with an excellent saxophone tone.
The band's work is stellar, particularly Richard Wright's keyboards and Dick Parry's saxophone. The album includes a live version of "Money" that, in my opinion, even surpasses the studio original.
It makes me think about how those sounds, which even today are considered the sounds of the future, must have sounded to the young people of 1974, when they heard them live. It gives me chills just thinking about it.
A legendary Pink Floyd performance from their "golden years."
