Saint Just self-titled album from 1973, here in a recent reissue.

Saint Just were an Italian progressive rock band from Naples, active in the '70s and named after the French revolutionary. The band was led by singer Jenny Sorrenti, sister of musician Alan Sorrenti, and initially formed as a trio with Antonio Verde (guitar, bass, vocals) and Robert Fix (saxophone).

Saint Just is their first album, a fusion of classic rock, medieval, folk, and psychedelic influences, with acoustic instruments and Sorrenti's distinctive voice. It is a progressive rock experiment featuring Alan Sorrenti, brother of singer Jenny, and Tony Esposito, the year after the release of the masterpiece Aria.

The story behind the cover photo printed on the inner sleeve is interesting; you can find the photo below and I invite you to read it, as it takes us back to a time when the artwork was an integral part of the album and not just a lure.

The album's atmosphere is overall soft and dark, with acoustic guitars, piano, and organ, with constant mood changes, numerous pauses, and shifts in every track.

Jenny's voice recalls that of her brother Alan, especially in the intonations and dynamics. The sound, experimental but not too much, beautiful atmospheres and compositions that give the sensation of being suspended in mid-air, in a daydream... beautiful album.
