My Generation is The Who's first album, released in December 1965.
It was in 1965 that The Detours recruited a young 19-year-old drummer, a self-taught, restless musician who had trained as an electrician. His name was Keith Moon. Shortly afterward, The Detours changed their name and immediately began recording the album. We're talking about The Who and My Generation, their debut, a piece of history.
We're talking about a very young band who made an album that in its original form expresses a hard rock, perhaps the hardest rock up to that point.

Among these, the impact of Keith Moon's drumming was impressive, with its spontaneous yet impetuous, wild, creative, and complex style.
It was their rhythm and blues period, and the album features not only compositions by Pete Townshend, but also covers of three songs from this genre, two by James Brown, and one by Bo Diddley, which aren't the album's best.
The title track, "My Generation," is a standout, with lyrics that captured the thinking of a generation criticized and judged by society at the time.
The album immediately climbed the UK charts, reaching number two, a resounding and unexpected success.
