Moving Pictures,  Rush's 1981 masterpiece and an essential progressive rock album

This version is included in the 40th anniversary box set.

An album with absolutely no weaknesses, a perfect album, containing songs that are now part of Rush's and progressive rock history.

One of the most important and iconic rock albums of all time, thanks to its originality, musicality, rich dynamics and tempo changes, and the perfect synthesis of melodic and aggressive elements.

A great rock album, violent, exciting, and innovative, that goes beyond the canons of heavy metal.

Impeccable execution, precise, with a clean and compact sound, featuring great solo moments like Alex Lifeson's guitar solo with the wah-wah pedal.

The album was performed live in its entirety during the Time Machine Tour, an event later released on vinyl and digitally under the title "Moving Pictures: Lives 2011".

The song "Tom Sawyer" was included in the "100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs" list, and indeed, who among us fans doesn't know the lyrics and every part of every instrument from "Tom Sawyer" by heart? An extraordinary, captivating song.

And no less so Red Barchetta and YYZ, or the other gems on this LP.

Neil Peart, a masterful songwriter and drummer, Alex Lifeson, memorable yet underrated, and Geddy Lee, one of the greatest rock bassists of all time, with a compelling singing voice, perfect on bass and keyboards.

Moving Pictures is definitely a masterpiece; there's no one opinion that holds true, just that there's no bad album in their discography, just varying degrees of greatness.
