The Piper At The Gates of Dawn,  Pink Floyd's 1967 debut album, marks our entry into the realm of music history.

An album released under the brilliant guidance of Syd Barrett, it is considered one of the most influential albums in the history of psychedelic rock and laid the foundation for a multitude of subsequent genres.

A psychedelic and experimental album, a seminal work of the genre, completely original and innovative for its time,

The album, dominated by the genius of Syd Barrett, made it a psychedelic masterpiece and one of the greatest records of all time.

The sound is melancholic, with pulsating bass, guitars, and a use of keyboards that creates a space-like carpet.

Many recent bands have been inspired by Pink Floyd, including Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson's solo work, Ozric Tentacles, Riverside, and many others from Europe and Scandinavia, a territory I've explored extensively musically recently.

Even just listening to the masterpiece "Astronomy Domine," the first track from their first album, it's clear how Pink Floyd's sound has influenced many bands and artists, but I think the same is true for "Interstellar Overdrive," with its spectacular opening, and "Bike," which gives us a glimpse of things to come much later.

A fantastic debut album, thanks to the genius of Syd Barrett and probably Roger Waters as well.

An immature album compared to their later works, but as the first in a series, it's a very important album, in my opinion.

I won't go track-by-track; we're talking about a classic, a masterpiece that laid the foundation for the music of a new generation and that, whether you're a die-hard Pink Floyd fan or not, is a must-have for your collection.

A visionary and original album, a landmark in the history of psychedelic music, which profoundly influenced the sound of Pink Floyd and the music of its time.
