Steven Wilson 's first album
Little more to add to the musical genius of the moment, I follow him. in all his past and present projects , it is now useless to even recount his exploits, also because he is one of the most prolific artists of this historical musical moment.

Speaking of Insurgentes , it is a dark, atmospheric and melancholic album in perfect Wilson style, combining melancholy with peaks of power, dreamy moments with more violent on
es, with the help of electronics also used in a virtuoso way.

The album features some of the greatest musicians of the past and present (I'll name those I have the most information about), including:
- Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree, The Pineapple Thief, Level 42, King Crimson)
- Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, Liquid Tension Experiment, King Crimson, Bruford Levin, Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe...)
- Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment)
- Clodagh Simonds (Mike Oldfield)
- Theo Travis (Soft Machine, The Tangent, King Crimson, David Gilmour, Gong, Travis & Fripp)
- Michiyo Yagi (Countless collaborations, including one with Porcupine Tree)
The title is named after an avenue in Mexico City where the album was partly recorded, Avenida de los Insurgentes.

The tracks on this first album are all remarkable, both in terms of composition and execution:
an album that has no weak points for me, followed by fantastic albums that will be the subject of future posts (the first 4, which for me are unrivaled, and the most recent one).
The sound quality? Excellent !
