Today listening to a splendid 2024 album, Land of Chameleons, by Karfagen, here in a beautiful signed copy by Antony Kalugin.
Band founded in Ukraine in 1997 by musician and composer Antony Kalugin, predominantly instrumental music that makes very creative use of keyboards and guitars, using both classical and ethnic instruments.
Symphonic rock of the highest level with folk, jazz-rock, and neo-prog influences, in a high-quality production, and despite great prolificacy, manages to maintain extremely high standards.
A band in great shape, the soprano saxophone by Marek Arnold (guest on many tracks) is beautiful, balance between Antony's voice and the female voices, for a contemporary, passionate, and melodic Symphonic Rock. I really like the instrumental track “Journey to a Shrine,” for me the most beautiful, very moving.
A beautiful album that only confirms what I already thought about this project, Karfagen is currently one of the cornerstones of modern prog.
