Here's my old copy of Bursting Out, the first live album by the legendary Jethro Tull, whose tracks were recorded during the Heavy Horses European tour between May and June 1978, and released that same year.

At that time the band had "churned out" eleven first-rate albums (1968 – This Was, 1969 – Stand Up, 1970 – Benefit, 1971 – Aqualung, 1972 – Thick as a Brick, 1973 – A Passion Play, 1974 – War Child, 1975 – Minstrel in the Gallery, 1976 – Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die!, 1977 – Songs from the Wood, 1978 – Heavy Horses), for this reason in my opinion it is one of the best from the point of view of the setlist and documents the group in a state of grace, a real show, in which the "Flute solo improvisation" alone is worth the price of the album, recorded at the best moment of a great group in its best lineup with Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, John Evan, Barriemore Barlow and John Glascock, a powerful band even live, with its great technical ability. and its spectacular quality, especially Ian Anderson's stage presence.

It's a sort of "greatest hits" from their vast catalog, with exceptional live performances of songs like "Aqualung," "Thick As A Brick," and "Songs From The Wood."

Unfortunately, the recording technique has limitations in dynamics, as do other live recordings from the era. I haven't yet listened to the 2024 Steven Wilson Remix, which seems to offer better sound quality. I will, but I'm still attached to my old copy for now...

A must-have!
