Strangeitude by Ozric Tentacles, released in 1991, is here in an excellent 2022 remaster.
An album that blends psychedelic rock and electronic music with ethnic influences, featuring complex bass and guitar work, a powerful rhythm section, and the beautiful coexistence of synths with traditional instruments like flute, bongos, and congas—the band's creative pinnacle, along with the splendid Erpland.
Top tracks include "White Rhino Tea" and "Sploosh!", splendid jams, while "Saucers" is a very sophisticated piece bordering on fusion.
A psychedelic atmosphere capable of great transport, entirely instrumental, with long tracks, which also served as a reference for subsequent albums, which draw on its key characteristics and enhance them.
The very popular song "Sploosh!" was also used as the soundtrack for a BMW advertising campaign.
One of my favorite albums by this band, top-notch psychedelic jams, but more controlled and less improvised than those found on the masterpiece Jurassic Shift.
Great album and great band!!!
