Last to Run by The Pineapple Thief, an EP released in November 2024, a few months after “It Leads to This” (from February 2024).
Beautiful compositions, with atmospheres ranging from calm to explosive and centered around the drums of Gavin Harrison and Jon Sykes' bass, with constant tempo changes and great energy. Excellent guitar work both in the soft sections and the heavier ones, and great synthesizers that enrich and define the atmospheres even when not predominant.
Five beautiful tracks, born from the same recording sessions as the previous album, but this is not leftover material—these are pieces put together with great care and taste.
- All Because of Me, the shortest track on the EP, with the classic Pineapple Thief sound and influences reminiscent of early Radiohead.
- Last to Run, an exceptional track with outstanding percussion and bass.
- Election Day with great emotional charge and wonderful tempo changes.
- The World to Me, with great keyboard work by Steve Kitch, very engaging.
- No Friend of Mine closes the album with Bruce Soord's great chugging guitar and excellent synths.
A very convincing EP, comparable to its predecessor and in fact a beautiful appendix to it.
