A great classic, a monumental album by Le Orme, Uomo Di Pezza, wonderful Italian Progressive Rock from 1972, with long instrumental parts performed to perfection.

The album title comes from the lyrics of the song Gioco di bimba, one of the band's best-known pieces, also used as a soundtrack. It is a concept album that tells the stories of seven women in six sung tracks and one instrumental, although some say that all the tracks refer to a single woman.

These are my impressions of the tracks.

- Una dolcezza nuova, beautiful with its alternation of dynamic and dreamy atmospheres, organ and piano.

- Gioco di bimba, as I said, a magnificent piece with its acoustic guitar and synthesizer but also mandolin and clavinet.

- La porta chiusa, with the Hammond playing with the piano and an excellent Moog.

- Breve immagine, very, very moving with violin and Mellotron in great evidence.

- Figure di cartone, beautiful, the most ELP-style one in my opinion.

- Aspettando l'alba, a sweet piece with its acoustic guitar and beautiful ending with flute and Mellotron.

- Alienazione, with a great drum part and magnificent keyboards, a fantastic piece that closes the album.

As mentioned, we find the Moog and Mellotron, but also the "church" organ, classic prog, orchestral moments, some passages reminiscent of Canterbury but above all the harder prog stands out, but also acoustic ballads and a great, among other greats, Aldo Tagliapietra, for an overall fantastic album that greatly contributes to placing Le Orme among the greatest Italian Progressive Rock bands.

The artwork is one of the most beautiful and iconic, at least in the Italian music scene.

Do I recommend it? This is a Must!
