Determinazione by Divae, from 1995, here in a recent reissue. Divae were a six-piece Italian progressive rock band formed in Rome in the 1990s. Determinazione is their only album. Their sound is characterized by symphonic Italian rock with 1970s references, a strong keyboard presence, and influences from bands like Banco, PFM, and Gentle Giant. Although the band was a one-off, their album featured prog legends Gianni Leone and Lino Vairetti. The group disbanded shortly after the album's release due to internal conflicts, and the members moved on to other projects, including the addition of bassist Amici and drummer Ugo Vantini in a reincarnation of Balletto di Bronzo and Vantini's entry into Vu Meters. The album is beautiful.
An excellent band with two keyboardists, the drums are, in my opinion, superb throughout the album thanks to Ugo Vantini (Balletto di Bronzo), Mellotron, Hammond organ, and guitar solos. The vocals are beautiful, and Osanna singer Lino Vairetti also appears, fantastic on "Vento Che Va" (as a guest), and the flute is also beautiful.
Gianni Leone of Il Balletto di Bronzo guest-performs keyboards and organ on an instrumental piece entitled infinito (the album's fourth track).
I repeat, a beautiful album, which reduces the time since the 1970s to the blink of an eye and takes me back to when international and Italian prog music was at its peak. Highly recommended!
