Everyone Is Everybody Else, by Barclay James Harves, 1974 album.
Barclay James Harvest is a British progressive rock band formed in 1967. The original lineup consisted of John Lees, Les Holroyd, Stuart "Woolly" Wolstenholme, and Mel Pritchard. Their sound is a fusion of rock with orchestral arrangements.
The original band disbanded in 1998, giving rise to two separate projects: John Lees' Barclay James Harvest and Barclay James Harvest with Les Holroyd.
John Lees' Barclay James Harvest has continued to perform and release new material, including the new album, Relativity, in 2025, featuring John Lees (the sole member of the original lineup), Craig Fletcher, Jez Smith, and Kevin Whitehead.
Everyone Is Everybody Else is the pinnacle of their output, their unfortunately little-known progressive rock masterpiece, the album that marked a turning point in their career, especially in Germany, where the band became very popular.
The album is characterized by a progressive melodic sound, progressive rock enriched by a strong melodic component that makes it an absolutely enjoyable listen from start to finish.
Although subsequent albums have had greater success, the album contains an impressive array of monstrous songs, in order: Child of the Universe, Negative Earth, Paper Wings, The Great 1974 Mining Disaster, Crazy City—beautiful tracks. After these five gems, a more relaxing mood is found with See Me See You, Poor Boy Blues, and Mill Boys. Finally, the great classic, For No One.
A great album, a hidden masterpiece, which, despite not being among their best-known hits, is a fundamental album and the pinnacle of their musical output, so absolutely recommended!
