Edge of Time by  Dom, released in 1972, is a unique and essential work in the world of Krautrock by a band formed in Düsseldorf, Germany in 1969 and disbanded in 1972, a quartet composed of members from Germany and Hungary.

Their sound is an acoustic journey dominated by acoustic guitars and percussion, electric organ parts, bass lines, and electronic effects for an absolutely psychedelic sound. The album's concept is based on a bad "trip" and its consequences on the mind and the perception of time, introduced on the album cover and in the title track.

A dark, atmospheric, and hypnotic sound achieved through an extraordinary fusion of flute, organ, and guitars with electronics, soft percussion, and proto-industrial elements that create a dreamy and unsettling atmosphere.

Some notes on the tracks:

- "Intruitus," the opening track, gradually develops with pulsating guitar and drums before transitioning into electronic sounds and a splendid church organ.
- "Silence," an exceptional track with a strong organ, vocals, and almost disturbing electronics, a very powerful piece.
- "Edge of Time," the title track, and in my opinion the album's top track, transitioning from chaotic noises to a soft atmosphere through a hallucinatory cacophony. Monumental.

- "Dream," the album closes, a calm and melancholic mood based on acoustic guitar and organ with a prominent xylophone part.

An avant-garde album, somewhere between dream and poetry, a must-have for fans of the genre, a gigantic album from a mysterious band.

A unique album, an absolute masterpiece.
