Flora Fauna e Cemento's, Rock, 1973 album
Flora Fauna e Cemento was an Italian pop-rock band formed in 1970 by Mario Lavezzi and Damiano Dattoli, who were associated with the Numero Uno record label founded by Lucio Battisti and Mogol. The band underwent frequent lineup changes, including temporary members, including Gianna Nannini. They released two albums, Rock (1973) and Disamore (1975), before disbanding in 1977. The band's core members were outstanding, including Mario Lavezzi, founder and guitarist; Damiano Dattoli, founder, bassist, and composer; Bruno Longhi, who replaced Dattoli on bass; Sergio Poggi, drummer; and Gianni Dall'Aglio, drummer who joined the band in 1973.
Their second album, Disamore, was an inconsequential continuation of the band's career, with weaker lyrics and music compared to their debut album.
The band disbanded due to the limited commercial success of their albums. Their debut album is a cult classic within the Italian progressive rock movement, despite being less significant than other works of the time.
The debut album was met with great success and is considered a unique and enjoyable rock album, with excellent recording quality for the time. The cover, featuring actress Dina Castigliego, photographed by Cesare Montalbetti, is particularly distinctive.
The album is commonly called "Rock" by fans due to the writing on the cover, but it is actually an untitled album.
The album was a great success in 1973 and I recommend it to anyone looking to complete their collection of Italian progressive rock albums.
